How do you change the filter on a Hague Watermax water softener?

I bought a Hague water softener and then found out that the company charges $800.00 to change the filter. I can't afford to have Hague change the filter and it needs changed badly. My water is coming out a pee yellow color! Yuck! Please help if anyone knows how to do this.How do you change the filter on a Hague Watermax water softener?
