Hotel that im due to stay in has awful tummy bug in, how can I get hotel changed without havin to pay extra?

Myself and my family are due to fly in a few weeks, just checked recent reviews and there is an awful tummy bug going round the hotel, it seems to be an ongoin problem that the hotel cannot get rid of, all preventional hygiene provisions are in place there but im very worried about taken my small children and parents there, is there anyway that i can change the hotel im stayin in without incurring charges? Its awful that im no longer lookin forward to this holiday because of this. The holiday is with first choice, ive been to see the shop and they tell me that they are unaware of such a problem and if unhappy see the rep when there but from readin reviews it seems the reps are not very helpful, help I dont want my holiday ruined.Hotel that im due to stay in has awful tummy bug in, how can I get hotel changed without havin to pay extra?
You don't get a tummy bug just by staying in a hotel, or anywhere else for that matter. Gastric problems are caught from contaminated food or from other people. While it's possible that a group of people in the hotel, for instance a tour group, could become sick it's more than likely that the bug was picked up outside the hotel.

Just go and enjoy your holiday. Make sure all family members wash their hands thoroughly before eating, and after going to the toilet (should be doing all that anyway). And get some hand disinfectant to use if you're really worried. But the actual hotel room and facilities should be fine and will not cause any problems.

Another thing to consider with hotel reviews is that the hotel business is very competitive. It's not unusual for a rival hotel owner to anonymously submit a bad review about another hotel just to get more business. I wouldn't worry about it at all.Hotel that im due to stay in has awful tummy bug in, how can I get hotel changed without havin to pay extra?
Your best bet is to phone First Choice and explain that several reviews online have mentioned this issue, and how ';there's no smoke without fire'; or something..

If they don't help, try messaging one of the users on these review sites to see if you can get more information on this matter. You could also try contacting the accommodation itself to get some clarification.

Failing all that, you will have to speak to your reps, and in general be careful of hygeine. If it's kept within the hotel/apartments, watch out for the swimming pool, any restaurants they may have, and general public contact.

Hope this helps :)

maybe you should try ringing customer support or something, or the hotel direct, or if the worst comes to the worst then go on the holiday and talk to the reps while your there

good luck!
Hotels and tour operators remind me of the movie Jaws when thing like this happen. ';Shark? What shark?';

Contact the tour operator and ask for a change of hotel. Give chapter and verse of the reviews.

Good luck.
