My ten month old son keeps waking up during the night, he's not thirsty or in need of a nappy change....?

He wont go down in his cot without crying his eyes out, but he'll be held and go to sleep, or be put next to me in the bed, any tips on how to get his to go down in his cot ?My ten month old son keeps waking up during the night, he's not thirsty or in need of a nappy change....?
Make sure he doesn't get more than the bare minimum of comfort or he'll just learn that it works and keep doing it.

That doesn't mean be beastly, but often just reaching into his cot and putting your hand on him or holding his will do. No lights on, no talking, no singing - just let him know you're still around and let him settle. After a while you may be able to just potter very quietly around the room and he'll settle.

Don't expect it to work at once!My ten month old son keeps waking up during the night, he's not thirsty or in need of a nappy change....?
He's only ten months old. He wants the comfort of your warmth just as you want the comfort of your man next to you. Give him love. hold him. A baby who is held and is given when he wants it will grow up to be a more adjusted wholesome individual. The 'Let Him Cry It Out' has already been proven to cause stress hormones which have an adverse effect on the brain. Besides, isn't it nce to feel wanted. Enjoy the cuddles. It won't be long before he is grown up. At that point you'll be lucky to get a grunt out of him.
Letting him cry is horrible advice and can actually cause him harm internally. It releases a stress hormone when they are left to cry, so I would think hard about that before you do it:)

Maybe he's teething and just wants to be soothed by his mommy...Thats the same issues Im having with my 12 month old. Hes been teething since 4 months. He has 8 teeth but it doesnt seem to get easier for him...
