How do i replace/overwrite ipod music and keep all playlists?

I have a 120gig pod, filled to the brim. I got iVolume, however this program fixes gain of tracks on the computer in iTunes, not on the ipod. So I dragged allllllllllll my music to my computer from the pod and put it in iTunes, and began the iVolume process (a VERY time-consuming process when you're talking about 15,00 0songs @ almost 120gigs). now i'm ready to put the music on my ipod.

FYI it must be noted that i do not ever have the pod and the prog set to sync. if the solution to my problem involves syncing, i am open to it, i'm merely establishing that i never work this way. so basically i now have 15000 songs in iTunes (from my HD) that are exactly the same as whats on the ipod, except for volume changes and the comment added to every track that iVolume was run. what i want to do is SWITCH the music on the ipod. specifically, i dont want to have to write down every track in every playlist and then rebuild them again, i want all data on the pod to simply be replaced by their iVolume-modified counterparts.

metadata is of course slightly altered (volume change and comment), which maybe makes iTunes/ipod see a completely new track no matter what. i tried out iRip but it seems to export the tracks along with the playlist. i just want the playlists to remain intact. however roundabout, i just want to not have to rebuild all the playlists manually, that would take forever; i'm even willing to redrag all tracks into their playlists, IF the computer can save my ipod's playlists as some kind of txt/xml/etc file. is any of this possible in any fashion? thanks in advance, cheers. ps i'm on a mac
